The Beach With The Best View Of Sydney - Whiting Beach

There's something special about swimming at a beach, with a perfect view of Sydney's city. I've found that the beaches that offer this, sometimes aren't the nicest of beaches. This one ticks off all my boxes!

Whiting Beach

This small, tucked away beach is one of my go-to beaches in Sydney. It feels as if you're surrounded by jungle, while looking out at Sydney's city.

Whiting Beach must be popular with the locals, as every time I've gone there seems to be a party!

If you're after a more relaxed atmosphere I wouldn't recommend this one. These parties have been set up with DJ decks and all!

If you're ok with the possibility of a guest DJ appearance, then add this beach onto your list of beaches to visit!

You'll truly be blown away by the view. If I had visitors from overseas this would be the beach I take them to.

Getting There

Located just behind Taronga Zoo, this beach is easily accessed by car, or public transport.

You can park at the end of Anthol Wharf Road, Mosman.

The small walk begins at the end of Anthol Wharf Road. Scattered along the walk are amazing views of the harbour.

Take the first left once on the trail, you can't miss it, as you'll see the beach below as you come up to the turn.

There's a ferry stop on the same road you would park, so this beach is super public transport friendly!

If catching public transport, you can check the route you'll need to take here

Know Before You Go

  • There is food and drink available at Taronga Zoo Wharf

  • There are no toilets close by

  • Plenty of parking available

  • This is an unpatrolled beach

  • UV in Australia is strong, make sure you wear sunscreen

I would like to acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, the traditional custodians of this land and pay my respects to the Elders both past and present.
